Did David Boreanaz Leave SEAL Team?

However, the physically demanding nature of the role has taken a toll on the actor. In an interview with TV Insider, Boreanaz admitted he had reached his limit:
“I was finished,” he said, revealing that he had made up his mind about leaving even before it was confirmed that Season 7 would be the show’s last.
The 2023 Writers Guild of America strike also factored into the decision. The delay caused by the strike allowed Boreanaz to complete the series, but he had already expressed a desire to step away, citing the physical challenges of playing a Navy SEAL.
“I knew going into this season that it was the perfect way to wrap up Jason’s arc,” Boreanaz said, adding that the extensive training required for the role pushed him to the limit.
