The world of soap operas is witnessing the passing of another of its greatest stars. Veteran actor Arsenio Campos has passed away.
Close friends of the family shared the sad news of his death on social media through a moving farewell.
The Mexican singer, the father of Alexandra Campos, passed away at the age of 79. The cause of his death has not been revealed at the time of writing.
Arsenio was one of Televisa’s biggest names, with more than thirty soap operas under his belt, supporting his career on the small screen.
Among his most remembered and outstanding television titles are the legendary Corazón salvaje , starring Eduardo Palomo and Edith González , Atrévete a olvidarme , Ángela , Amores verdaderos and Soy tu dueña , among many others.
A long list of leading plays and films has made his career one of the most respected in Latin America.
“With profound sadness, we join in the grief felt by our friend Alexandra Campos for the irreparable loss of her father, the Mexican actor Arsenio Campos. We embrace you and your family. May God give you strength and comfort,” wrote Sandra Gómez , a close friend of the family, in an emotional message.
The actor was married to María Teresa Santos , with whom he had two children, Arsenio and Alexandra. His home was Saltillo, in the Mexican state of Coahuila.
