Norwegian Cruise Line Cancels 38 Voyages for Winter 2025-26 Across Three Ships

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced a significant update, cancelling 38 cruises scheduled to sail between November 2025 and April 2026.

The cancellations affect itineraries on three ships: Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Star, and Norwegian Dawn, and span regions as diverse as the Caribbean, South America, Antarctica, and Africa.

Guests booked on these voyages will receive full refunds to their original form of payment and a 10% Future Cruise Credit for future bookings.

While the cruise line has not officially disclosed the reasons for the cancellations, the decision is widely believed to stem from ship redeployments, a common industry practice aimed at optimizing market demands.

Norwegian Jewel Cancellations

The Norwegian Jewel will not sail any cruises between November 23, 2025, and April 5, 2026. This includes:

• 7-night Caribbean cruises departing from Tampa, Florida, with stops in Costa Maya and Cozumel (Mexico), Harvest Caye (Belize), and Roatan (Honduras).
• 14-night Caribbean itineraries, which featured visits to destinations such as Grand Cayman, Aruba, Grenada, Antigua, and St. Thomas.

After the cancellations, the Norwegian Jewel will relocate to Philadelphia and begin a series of 7-night Bermuda and Charleston cruises starting April 16, 2026.

Later that year, it will operate Canada/New England itineraries, sailing between Quebec City and Philadelphia.

Norwegian Star Cancellations

The Norwegian Star will not operate any voyages from November 20, 2025, to April 14, 2026. The affected cruises include:

• A 14-night repositioning voyage from Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro, stopping at Tenerife, Cape Verde, and several Brazilian ports.
• Voyages to Antarctica and South America, including a 14-night Antarctica cruise with stops in Argentina and Chile, and a 16-night South American itinerary focusing on Chilean and Argentinian ports.

Once these cancellations are complete, the Norwegian Star will reposition to Europe, offering an April 26, 2026, repositioning voyage from Lisbon to Southampton, UK.

During summer 2026, it will focus on itineraries exploring Iceland, Norway, and Scotland, departing from Southampton.

Norwegian Dawn Cancellations

The Norwegian Dawn will cancel voyages scheduled between November 2, 2025, and April 12, 2026, including:

• A 21-night Africa cruise, which was to depart from Barcelona and visit exotic destinations like Casablanca and Agadir (Morocco), Dakar (Senegal), and Walvis Bay (Namibia).

The ship will resume operations with a 7-night Mediterranean cruise from Lisbon to Barcelona on April 19, 2026, before continuing its Western Mediterranean summer itineraries.

If a destination’s appeal declines or other regions become more popular, ships are moved to match customer preferences and maximize cabin sales.

Guests booked on the affected sailings will automatically receive full refunds to their original payment methods.
