A heat advisory is currently in effect for Miami, with heat index values forecasted to soar up to 106°F on Saturday afternoon.

The advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, remains in place until 6 p.m.

Residents are urged to stay indoors, stay hydrated, and limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.

Scattered thunderstorms are also expected, particularly between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m., with a 30% chance of storms later in the evening.

Overnight temperatures will dip to around 79°F, but storm activity is predicted to decrease after midnight.

Drivers on I-95 should exercise caution, as southbound winds between 7 and 11 mph could cause localized gusts, potentially making driving conditions more dangerous.

Heavy downpours during thunderstorms may also result in localized flooding, especially in flood-prone areas.

On Sunday, high temperatures will persist, with heat index values reaching up to 104°F. The likelihood of thunderstorms will be lower, but slight chances of storms will return on Monday.
