NBA fans witnessed a heated moment Friday night as Draymond Green weighed in on Grant Williams’ actions that led to his ejection for a Flagrant Two foul on former teammate Jayson Tatum.

The incident showed up during a tense game as Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum brought the ball up the court.

Out of nowhere, Grant Williams charged forward, colliding with Tatum in a way that shocked both fans and fellow players.

The reaction from Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, known for his candid takes, was immediate on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

“Grant Williams saying it’s not intentional fouling JT like that is mad wild. And he smiling about it,” Green tweeted. “Thinking a blindside hit ‘on ya mans’ is a smile-worthy offense means 1 of 2 things… you have zero awareness, or you a goofy… And both make you a goofy… goofy.”

Jaylen Brown, Tatum’s current Celtics teammate, added to the buzz, comparing the foul to a “football play” and expressing disbelief over what it might mean for Williams and Tatum’s friendship. “I thought JT and Grant were friends… I guess not,” Brown said.

Williams, however, defended his actions after the game. Insisting that the foul was unintentional, he explained, “I was just trying to make a play on the ball… There was no intent to harm him in any way.”
