Chloe Bailey has strongly supported Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, highlighting the importance of representation in politics.
As a Black woman, Bailey highlighted the significance of being able to vote for another woman of color, marking a powerful moment in history.
In an interview with Glamour UK, Bailey shared, “There was a time when people who looked like me didn’t have the opportunity to vote. I’m a Black woman in 2024 who can make my voice heard—who can actually vote for another woman of color to possibly be president.”
She also encouraged the younger generation to participate actively in the electoral process, stressing, “No matter which way they go, it is important to place our vote and let our voices be heard.”
Bailey, who recently won Musician of the Year at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards in London, reflected on the societal progress she’s witnessed.
“I can walk into any store as a Black woman; I can make a living expressing myself through my music. That’s progress,” she noted.
However, she raised concerns about the potential rollback of reproductive rights, stating, “It’s sad to see rights which were fought for and won possibly being ripped away again.”
Bailey’s support for Harris signals a broader message about the power of representation and the importance of protecting hard-won freedoms.
