Union Home Minister Amit Shah will campaign in Haryana on September 27, 2024, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections scheduled for October 5.
Shah will address rallies starting in the Rewari Assembly constituency at noon, followed by another rally in the Mulana Assembly segment.
He will conclude his campaign with a public meeting in the Ladwa Assembly seat. The results for the Haryana assembly polls will be announced on October 8.
In parallel, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to campaign in Jammu and Kashmir on the same day. He will hold public rallies in the Samba district’s Ramgarh area and in Chaamb of Jammu.
These rallies are part of his efforts to mobilize support for the Congress party as the final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections approaches on October 1.
A team from the Election Commission of India (ECI), led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, is on a two-day visit to Maharashtra to evaluate the state’s election preparedness.
This visit follows a recent trip to Jharkhand, with both states’ elections being closely monitored by the ECI.
Unlike previous years, the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana have been decoupled this time to allow focused attention on each state’s unique circumstances.
In Himachal Pradesh, a ‘Sadbhavna March’ is scheduled for September 27, aiming to foster peace and harmony in response to recent communal tensions over a mosque controversy in Shimla.
Civil society members are calling for participation in the march, which will take place near the District Collector’s office at 11 AM.
Former Mayor Sanjay Chauhan has emphasized the importance of unity among communities during this critical time.
