Sikh leaders expressed their sorrow on the GoFundMe page, describing the family’s grief as “unimaginable and indescribable.” They shared the sequence of events that led Kaur’s mother to search for her, which ended in the harrowing discovery of her daughter.

The leaders thanked everyone who contributed to support the family, stating that the outpouring of kindness and generosity has been a significant source of strength for them.

Investigation Underway, Walmart Remains Closed

Halifax police are continuing their investigation into the cause and manner of Gursimran Kaur’s death, which they described as a “complex case” involving several partner agencies.
