Hey Fortnite fans, get ready! The much-awaited Fortnite update 31.30 is here, and with it comes exciting new features and content.

However, before fresh experience, players will have to face a bit of downtime. Scheduled for today, this update promises to deliver new additions, bug fixes, and some teasers for the upcoming Fortnitemares event.

Fortnite Downtime for Update 31.30

Fortnite servers will go offline at 9 am BST / 4 am EDT / 1 am PDT on October 1, 2024. As is tradition, matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes earlier.

While server downtime typically lasts between 2-4 hours, recent updates have been quicker, with downtime expected to wrap up around 11 am BST / 6 am EDT / 3 am PDT.

During this period, all Fortnite game modes, including LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival, will be unavailable.

Epic Games has confirmed this is scheduled maintenance, unrelated to the recent PlayStation Network issues, which have now been resolved.

What’s Coming in Fortnite Update 31.30?

This patch marks the third major update of Chapter 5 Season 4, and there’s a lot to look forward to.

The update is expected to introduce several new features, including:

• Sleep Mode: A new feature allowing Fortnite to enter sleep mode after 15 minutes of inactivity, pausing voice chat and canceling matchmaking. The timer is adjustable under Game > Sleep Mode & Energy Saving.
• Fortnitemares Teasers: Expect hints and clues around the map for the upcoming Fortnitemares event. Leakers are suggesting a spooky Skeletor cosmetic could be part of the event.
• New Collaborations: Rumors point to exciting crossovers with Marvel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), Fast and Furious, and even former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal. There’s speculation that these collaborations will expand Fortnite’s ever-growing universe.

This patch is also expected to include bug fixes, new cosmetics, and updates to Creative Mode, where TMNT-themed content will be added.

With this update being the last one before the Halloween-themed Fortnitemares event, players can expect spooky surprises and exciting content drops.
